Every Whovian should know that the Christmas season is not complete without a good Doctor Who Christmas Special. Although there are a bunch of really great Christmas Specials, the "Doctor Who - A Christmas Carol" is by far one of NerdiPop's all-time favorite Christmas episodes. This special episode stars the beautiful and talented Katherine Jenkins as Abigail, flying fish and a flying shark (100% serious!). We love this special and watch it every Christmas Eve. One of the coolest things in the BBC Doctor Who Series are the epic monsters and villains. For this blog we are looking at our top 10 favourite monsters in the series. 10) The Adipose Although not really monsters, the Adipose are just too cute and gruesome (if you think what they are!) not to mention on this blog. In the episode Partners in Crime, we see over-weight people losing weight over night without them knowing how they lost the weight. Later on in the show, we see that young Adipose are "born" from the fat of people. At one
My Favorite Doctor Who Episode
Choosing my favourite Doctor Who episode isn't easy as there are quite a lot of episodes out there - and most of them are really good. If I really have to choose, then it will have to be between a Time of Angels and Victory of the Daleks. For this article we are going to concentrate on Victory of the Daleks. Taking place in World War 2, Churchill has a new secret weapon to take on the German War Machine and turn the tide for the allies. His new 'Ironsides' will save the day, but unknown to him, they are

Doctor Who Series 8 Review: The Season That Shifted Focus
Doctor Who Season/Series 8 aired on 23 August 2014. It is the first full series with the 12th Doctor (played by Peter Capaldi). With the start of the Peter's first full series, I was looking forward to seeing Peter Capaldi's take on the 12th Doctor, as my first Doctor was the 11th played by Matt Smith. I really wanted to support the 12th as a brilliant rendition of the doctor. For my money I really liked Capaldi's portrayal of the doctor in some episodes, but sadly the writers dropped the ball. The biggest problem with this series is that the
A South African Whovian’s perspective on Doctor Who Season 8
In 2011, I heard about this really cool British sci-fi show called “Doctor Who” and was told that I should really watch it. I was quite skeptical, even though I love sci-fi and fantasy shows. I started watching the 11th Doctor’s series - with Matt Smith. What a delightful surprise - I was hooked! The weird mix of Matt’s fish fingers and custard and little Amy Pond. Since then I’ve watched Christopher Eccleston’s 9th doctor series with Rose Tyler and the wonderful 10th doctor, David Tennant. My whole family also got enthralled by Doctor Who (Who wouldn’t, pun intended). Later
Doctor Who Guide: Exploring Doctors 8 to 12
For the second part of this blog, we will discuss Doctors 8 to 12: Read more about Doctors Who 1 to 6. The 8th Doctor - Paul McGann (1996 and briefly in 2013 with the 50th anniversary special short) Characteristics: Charismatic, charming, Victorian, and he seemed excited by trivial things. Companions: Grace Holloway Favorite episodes: Paul McGann, although a wonderful actor, unfortunately only featured in the Doctor Who TV movie, with Eric Roberts as (a very charismatic) The Master. The TV movie was terrible with hints that the Doctor was half-human, but hey – the Doctor lies! He got another
